31 Weeks

31 weeks!

I can't believe that I am at 31 weeks. This pregnancy is going so fast. I have officially 10 teaching days left and then I am on maternity leave until January 2013; something I haven't been able to get my head around just yet.

The maternity leave here is very impressive. 6 weeks before the baby is born and 8 weeks after the baby is born the mommy receives full pay. I am so thankful that I do not have to teach up until my due date! After the 8 weeks, I will go on leave at 65 percent of my pay; a pretty good deal if you ask me. I am extremely happy that I will be able to stay at home with Norah Grace during the first year of her life without having to worry about money.

This week Craig and I are planning on visiting the hospital where I will have the baby. They offer an open house every Wednesday. Maybe I can see about birthing classes while we are there.

Getting closer to the due date -- I totally got this :)

Thankfully the start to the cold and dark days in Germany have not been so bad. Now, if the weather can hold off for another 2 weeks I will be extremely grateful. This pregnant lady does not care to ice skate the 0.5 mile I walk to school each day.
