Announcement of Baby Goodwin's Name

Sorry our voices don't match up with our lips.

Just in case you didn't catch the name... Baby Goodwin's name is Norah Grace Goodwin.

Boy or Girl?

Tuesday felt like Christmas day in the Goodwin house. We were going to find out if Baby G was a boy or a girl. The last ultrasound I had the doctor was unable to tell because of the position Baby was laying in. So, we waited another four long weeks to find out. It felt like the longest day ever as Craig and I waited for my appointment.

My students at school are extremely excited about the baby. They were also excited to find out if baby was a boy or girl. One of them would ask me each day if I knew what the baby was and each day I would tell them I would find out on September 13th. Of course, on Tuesday, we had to have some fun so we took a vote to see what 5AG thought Baby would be.

Before the appointment I followed my mom's advice; I drank lots of cold orange juice. It certainly worked because baby was hopping around. The doctor found it amusing to see the baby move as much as she did.

Even with baby moving around, it was still difficult for the doctor to see if baby was a boy or girl. However, she was finally able to say she is 95% certain baby G is a baby GIRL! Craig and I are so excited.

We just HAD to do a little bit of shopping on Saturday. It was really cute to see Craig looking at all of the little girl clothes. He picked out both of her outfits. I love that the little pants have hearts on them. It is only fitting for our February baby. I picked out the shoes. I just couldn't resist the leopard print!

On Wednesday I go for a diagnostic testing so hopefully we will be able to find out if baby really is a girl. Either way, Craig and I are so happy that Baby is healthy.

Craig and I are going to ATTEMPT a video blog post later today to announce baby's name.

Are We Really Ready For Children?

Yesterday, after a long week with kiddos, Craig and I came home to find Bella covered in stickers. Where Bella found the stickers, how she managed to get them all over her, and what role Mika played in all of this is still uncertain. Nonetheless, it gave Craig and I a good Friday laugh. We cannot begin to imagine what life will be like when we mix a child in with these two crazy creatures. I'm sure they will become the three musketeers creating lots of mischief and lots of laughs.

Of course we did what any responsible "parent" would do in this situation... when we were finished laughing we took pictures :)

Hanging Out

Today I decided to take advantage of this gorgeous day. I packed up my bag with a good book, blanket and bottle of water and decided to head to the park. However, first I called my husband who had ventured off into the park earlier in the day. He told me where I could find him, so off I went.
First I saw evidence of Craig amongst the trees. His bike was lying on its side.
As I got closer I saw his backpack and the rope I had "bought" him for his birthday.
I then looked up to see my dear husband 30 feet up a tree. Can you see him?
How about now?
Ah, there he is!
Yes, my husband enjoys spending his Sundays climbing trees. No worries as he wears a helmet and has his trusty climbing gear which he is trained to use. Nonetheless, I can't say I'm an avid supporter of this; more like an avid worrier. But, this is what makes him happy and in turn makes me happy. I just pray he doesn't get hurt!

"It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit."~Robert Louis Stevenson

19 Weeks

Amy at 19 weeks!
1 more week and I am halfway there. I am so happy that the weather in Leipzig is starting to cool off. 80 + degrees and a non-airconditioned classroom are not a good combination for anyone; especially if you are pregnant!

On Tuesday we get to find out if Baby G is a boy or a girl (that is if Baby G is willing to show the goods!) I can't even begin to explain how excited I am to find out. Next weekend is going to be dedicated to SHOPPING!
